Enjoy one of the most beautiful countries in Europe

In this tasting, we'll focus on the flavor differences of the six Scottish whisky regions: Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside, Islands, Islay, and Campbeltown. We'll learn that each region can bring a distinctive character to the glass. Why this is so will also be explored and explained in this expressive journey.

Both original bottlings and signature bottlings from independent bottlers make their way into the glass. Some are served at drinking strength, others at cask strength, from classic ex-bourbon casks to bottlings matured or finished in exotic casks.

We start in the Lowlands, letting a triple-distilled, smooth, and grassy malt melt on our tongues. Cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow pass by in our mind's eye. Then we continue up into Speyside, through gentle glens and over lively struths. We enjoy a fruity, smooth malt from one of the numerous distilleries along the River Spey. More wildness now enters the glass at the Highland distilleries – can you already hear the bagpipes sounding over the rugged mountain peaks? We take the ferry to one of the numerous offshore islands, taste maritime saltiness with hints of smoke in our glass, and enjoy the sound of the waves. Of course, an iconic malt from Scotland's smallest region, Campbeltown, is a must. The "Wings" and their declaration of love, "Mull of Kintyre," gently creep into our ears. The crowning finale is the Islay whisky – rough, untamed, peaty, phenolic, smoky… and a bit of fruit on vanilla foam – perfect!
