Mantuano Rum has been part of Botucal's core range since late 2016/early 2017 – also known internationally as "Ron Diplomático" – and replaces the Reserva Rum. Botucal Mantuano Rum draws many facets from the popular flagship Botucal Reserva Exclusiva. Recognizable notes of dried fruit, sweet vanilla, and hints of spice are due, among other things, to the eight years of aging, but distillation in batch kettle, column still, and pot stills also contribute to the balanced interplay of sweetness and spice. "Mantuano" translates as "noble gentleman." Like all of the distillery's rums, this bottling is made from a blend of sugar cane honey and molasses.

Aroma: Rum raisins with cream, toffee, dates and a hint of dark chocolate, followed by subtle fruit notes.

Taste: Sweet, mild, oily with hints of rum raisins, nuts, vanilla and again toffee with a subtle wood note.

Finish: Short and spicy with light metallic accents and dark chocolate.
