The Forgotten Casks were, surprisingly, forgotten. 

The story behind it is that on May 2, 2007, the administration and blending facilities were severely damaged by a fire. 

In the hustle and bustle of the fire, barrels were taken from the warehouses to all sorts of places and then forgotten.

Some barrels from the Chairman's series were then rediscovered and bottled separately at 40% ABV. 

The barrels are blends of molasses rums distilled in the Coffey and pot stills. 

They were matured separately, depending on the type of distillation, in ex-bourbon barrels from Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and Buffalo Trace. 

After 3 to 7 years they were blended and then aged for another 5 years. 

The Forgotten Casks are older rums of the Charman's Reserve Rum, aged between 7 and 12 years. 

 

Official Tasting Notes: 

A wonderfully intense nose of sweet raisin and sultana with a hint of tobacco and vanilla from the oak. The palate is intense with sweet honeyed fruits and spices, creating a wonderfully balanced and complex rum.
